Essential Oils & Aromatherapy

Essential oils are concentrated extractions from plants, a process known as distillation that captures the “essence” of a plant into a liquefied form. Not only do essential oils smell great but support health and well-being such as reducing stress, helping with sleep, and much more.

Most commonly, essential oils are practiced in aromatherapy, in which they are inhaled through various methods. Inhaling these aromas can stimulate our brain, more specifically our limbic system. This plays a role in our emotions, behaviours, sense of smell, and long-term memory. Always wonder why certain smells can trigger our memories or emotions? Yup! Our limbic system!
